To protect everyone, the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) has decided that it is mandatory to wear a mask in all publicly accessible indoor areas and in public transport. In addition, it is important, whenever possible, to keep a distance of 1.5 meters and to follow the hygiene regulations of the BAG.
Please note that all restaurant and hotel guests (from 16 years) need to have a “Swiss or EU COVID certificate (2G = vaccinated or recovered)”. We will ask all guests to provide it upon check-in.

Who has to have their certificate converted into a Swiss certificate?
All guests who have a Covid certificate that is not compatible with the EU system. This affects guests from third countries (e.g. USA, Gulf States, South Korea, UK). People who have been vaccinated in an EU member state should already have an EU certificate that is also valid in Switzerland. Recovered people from the EU and third countries can also apply for a Swiss Covid certificate.
How is the process for the guest?
On this website, the guest can fill out an application form and upload the relevant documents.
The guest must provide the following information:
- a valid identity document (passport or ID)
- Proof of complete vaccination abroad or a positive molecular biological test result (e.g. PCR test) from a foreign laboratory
- Proof that the guest is entering Switzerland (e.g. hotel accommodation, travel ticket)
The guest receives his recognized Swiss Covid certificate by email as a PDF or can transfer it to the Swiss Covid certificate app using a transfer code. The issued certificate is only valid for the guest in Switzerland and not in the EU.
How long does the process take?
The federal government and the cantons expect a processing time of 5 days.
Is the conversion into a Swiss Covid certificate free of charge for the guests?
No, processing the application costs 30 francs and is to be paid by the applicant (guest).
Does a guest also have to have their certificate recognized for entry into Switzerland?
No, specific regulations apply to entry into Switzerland (see link above). It is mandatory to fill out an entry form.
The recognition of the certificate is necessary for the areas of mandatory certification in Switzerland.
What do guests from third countries who have been vaccinated with a vaccine that is not on the EMA list have to consider?
These people can apply for a Swiss Covid certificate, which will be valid for 30 days.
